This place is not recommended for those who are afraid of heights. However, for those who enjoy being in high-up places, a tree-hotel is definitely the perfect place from which to enjoy it. And not just that, the most wonderful feature of this hotel is that it is a perfect place from which to admire the aurora borealis, or northern lights.
Designed by the Norwegian architectural firm Snøhetta, this treehouse hotel is the height of exclusivity, sitting just above 32 feet off the ground, and providing guests with spectacular views over the forest of the Lapland, the Lule River, and, as mentioned before, the aurora borealis.
The structure has wide glass windows in all rooms, so that the natural light that seeps in through them is the main source of illumination. To create the sensation of spaciousness in the small bedrooms, the architect made the decision to create an open floor plan, which also avoids making the guests feel claustrophobic in the enclosed spaces.
The birch plywood walls, added to these wide windows, give guests the sensation of sleeping outside, in the middle of the forest. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful experience? Now we all have the perfect excuse to travel to Sweden, where this wonderful hotel is located.
