High in the hills over Turkey’s Bodrum Peninsula, these charming resort villas blend in with their surroundings. The Gumus Su Villas project, a collaboration between Cirakoglu Architects and Demirden Layout, consists of 5 units on 20 acres.

“The simple idea was to define the single property unit strictly inside of a square, repeat it 5 times inside of the plot and then leave the rest of the site to nature itself,” the architects stated. A terrace and swimming pool shaded by a bamboo canopy are the trademarks of every villa.

Classic stone walls root the dwellings into the hillside, although wooden decks and large glass walls inspire a contemporary truly feel. Every property also has its own backyard.

The lounge, bedrooms and bathrooms within every single villa are personal blocks connected by way of inner hallways. A massive residing region, featuring eclectic accents and linked to the deck, acts as the social core of the resort villas.

Sustainable features contain thick stone walls that offer thermal insulation, bamboo shelters that further help to maintain the interiors cool, and semi-open circulation places for organic ventilation. [Photography by Cemal Emden]
