This mid century modern day in Berkeley Hills has gone through an extensive renovation. The house was originally made by Ratcliff, Slama & Catwalader for Robert Scalapino, a UC Berkeley emeritus professor of Political Science. In 2012 the new owners employed YAMAMAR to bring their vision to light. The interiors are a bit to Jonathan Adler for me (not that there is anything incorrect with that) but the residence has some beautiful attributes. The cast concrete fireplace is an incredible sculptural form that demands focus and will ignite a conversation. I would like to see more of the exterior and architecture of the house.
