The Lantern Ridge House sits atop a modest wooded hill in Kerhonkson, New York. From its hilltop seat, it’s windowed walls face each sunrise and sunset. The inventive team at Studio MM was challenged to style a contemporary forest retreat suited for a family members and their visitors.
“The main aim of the project was to produce a house that responds to its organic surroundings whilst catering to the flexible wants of a client that craves the 2 personal reflection and social engagement,” the architects said.
The core of the house is an open prepare residing area, which faces the 2 sunrise and sunset. This gathering space is flanked by 2 wings which contain the private bedrooms for the owners and guests. The design scheme is minimalist to target absolutely everyone’s consideration out to the landscape beyond the glass.
“A steady wood ceiling shelters an exterior deck and the glass façade, which focuses expansive views and provides a regularly sunlit area,” the architects mentioned.
Pine ceiling and dark siding have been the supplies employed in order to mix the residence in its natural environment.
