When DRIFT architectural analysis and style were contacted by their customer to create a developing that would permit her for connecting to the property and its environment, they created the idea of developing 2 pavilions that each straddle the 3-hundred yr old lava stream on Boasts, Hawaii.

The very first pavilion (enclosed pavilion) is known as Mauka after the particular Hawaiian phrase for “inland toward the forest. ” This houses a little bedroom that will looks out there towards the lava flow by way of a large slipping window. The 2nd pavilion (or outdoor pavilion) is named Makai after the Hawaii word designed for seaward, because it has views from the Pacific as well as the island associated with Kahoolawe.
